Switzerland Tourism (ST) has signed a marketing initiative with UNESCO to promote all World Heritage sites in the country. The agreement is valid until the end of 2006.

Seven sites are on UNESCO´s list and they are Bern old town, Bellinzona castles, St Gallen and Mustair convents, the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn, the Monte San Giorgio, and the region of Entlebuch.

With this agreement, ST strengthens Switzerland´s image by stressing its natural and cultural attractions. Interestingly, Switzerland has what is claimed to be the world´s highest concentration of museums, with 980 in all.

ST also recently introduced a third themed route for independent travelers –Art & Architecture, following on from “Gourmet & Wine” and “Luxury & Design”. The A&A route guides visitors through 26 cities, introducing places of interest from all regions, styles, and eras.
