Starwood’s Caribbean, South Florida Hotels Offer Storm Guarantee

In light of this season’s storm projections, Starwood Hotels and Resorts located in the Caribbean and South Florida reassures group and leisure travelers with its travel interruption policy. In the event of a qualifying storm, Starwood Hotels and Resorts located in the Caribbean and South Florida will replace the balance of a guest’s vacation for the duration of the reservation.

This guarantee applies to leisure and group reservations for room and applicable taxes. In addition, in-house guests will not be penalized for an early departure in the event of a storm, and any unused portion of a deposit will be refunded. All replacement vacations at Starwood Hotels and Resorts must be redeemed within one calendar year and reservations for comparable accommodations will be made on a space available basis.

Guests holding reservations who are unable to travel due to an airport closing or a Starwood Hotels and Resorts closing in the Caribbean or South Florida, will be given the option of a full refund or a one room category upgrade on their next visit within one calendar year.

The guarantee offered by Starwood Hotels and Resorts is subject to change and black-out dates apply. Starwood Hotels and Resorts’ storm guarantee applies to storms validated by the National Hurricane Center, typically a tropical cyclone in which the maximum sustained surface wind is 74 mph (64 knots) or greater.

The Caribbean or South Florida must be placed under a Hurricane Watch or Hurricane Warning by the National Hurricane Center for the storm guarantee policy to be in effect.

Participating Caribbean Starwood Hotels and Resorts include The Westin St. John, USVI; The Westin Resort, Aruba; The Westin Resort and Spa, Cancun; Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort, Bahamas; Four Points by Sheraton Resort & Casino at Palmas Del Mar, Puerto Rico; Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino, San Juan; Four Points by Sheraton Caguas Real, Puerto Rico; W Retreat & Spa-Vieques Island, Puerto Rico; Westin St. Maarten and Westin Grand Cayman. Participating South Florida Starwood Hotels and Resorts include the Westin Diplomat/Hollywood, Westin Beach Resort Fort Lauderdale, Sheraton Fort Lauderdale beach hotel, W Fort Lauderdale and W South Beach.
