Star Alliance Member Airlines to Offer Customers E-tickets on All Routes by the End of 2005
Passengers traveling on electronic tickets (e-tickets) will benefit immediately from the closer cooperation between Lufthansa, BMI and LOT Polish Airlines.
From now on, the e-ticket service will also be available on flights to the worldwide destinations served by Lufthansa´s partner airlines BMI and LOT in addition to the destinations served directly by Lufthansa. Passengers will then be able to fly to a total of 370 cities throughout the world without a paper ticket.
The agreement with BMI and LOT is part of a global Star Alliance project that will soon offer customers the opportunity to travel on one electronic ticket within the Star Alliance network.
Lufthansa currently offers e-tickets for flights with Lufthansa, Air Canada, Austrian, Scandinavian Airlines and United, and there are plans to integrate other Star Alliance member airlines into the system by the end of the year.
