St. Lucia`s Coco Kreole begins hotel expansion

After successfully transitioning from the airline business and opening the Coco Kréole small hotel in Rodney Bay last fall, Allen Chastanet, has announced that he is expanding the bijou Rodney Bay hostelry into a much larger one.

Chastanet, Air Jamaica´s former Vice President of Marketing and Sales, broke ground this week on a new US$6 million dollar Coco Palm project on the grounds of Coco Kréole. The new hotel will include 74 rooms, 12 suites, a conference room (to seat 120 people theatre style), board rooms, a small spa, gym, extensive pool area, Jacuzzis, restaurant and cafe.

This will increase the presence of Coco Resorts in "Rodney Bay Village" whose restaurateurs and hoteliers around the renowned harbour have banded together to re-brand the area in a collective marketing package. The village features hotels of different sizes and experiences and numerous dining options, from classy Chinese, Indian and Creole cuisine to Domino´s Pizza and KFC fried chicken.

A major jazz concert that was free to the public was held in the area last weekend to kick off a series of activities aimed at promoting Rodney Bay Village as the entertainment capital of St Lucia.
