St Lucia Appoints New Director of Tourism

St Lucia´s former Permanent Secretary Maria C. Fowell was appointed St. Lucia´s Director of Tourism. Ms. Fowell replaces Peter Hilary Modeste who served as Director of Tourism for nine years.

Ms. Fowell has extensive experience in the hospitality sector, including a brief tenure as Guest & Public Relations Manager at the Rex St. Lucian Hotel.

She has also served in multiple positions at the St. Lucia Tourism Board, most recently as that of Deputy Director of Tourism. In 2002, Ms. Fowell accepted the role of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism.

Ms. Fowell is a former student of the St. Joseph´s Convent and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, and holds a Bachelor´s degree in Tourism Management (UWI) and a Master´s degree in Marketing from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
