St. Lucia’s Marigot Bay Debuts Renovations at Marina
Luxury mega yachts have returned to the Marina at Marigot Bay in St. Lucia, following the rebuilding of the original Marigot Marina, which boosted the dock capacity from 26 slips to 40 berths.
Marigot Bay, a sheltered harbor on St. Lucia’s west coast three miles south of Castries, recently completed a major re-do that included the construction of the Discovery at Marigot Bay luxury resort and spa, Marina Village and the marina itself.
At the end of February, Marina Village will open with a gourmet supermarket, a bank, boutique shops, a French bakery, laundry and dry cleaning services, a tour desk, medical facilities and a drugstore, and car rental sites.
The Marina at Marigot Bay is exploring the option of offering permanent year-round berthing for vessels up to 130 feet long. Its natural harbor provides hurricane protection, which will enable yachts to moor in the Caribbean for summer and fall charters.
