St. George’s Caye Resort, on a private residence island just off the Belize Barrier Reef, recently completed renovations including the addition of four oceanfront cabanas, two garden cabanas and a garden area, as well as a new swimming pool.

The $2 million renovation has doubled the number of accommodations. As the closest inhabited island to the Belize mainland, St. George’s Caye is easily accessible by boat, yet feels worlds away from everyday life.

Rich in culture and history, the island is best known for being the bedrock of Belize’s independence from the imperial stronghold of Spain as well as the Central American nation’s original capital.

The Barrier Reef, the world’s second-longest coral reef system, is a sought-after destination for scuba enthusiasts, and St. George’s Caye Resort focuses on providing divers with a personalized experience.

The resort’s signature Valet Diving program ensures that all dives have an ideal ratio of divers to instructors and that divers’ experiences are designed based upon their experience and comfort level. The flats off the coasts of the cayes also attract anglers from across the globe in search of tarpon, permit, bonefish and many more species.

The resort’s fishing excursions are designed to guests’ specifications and led by some of Belize’s most knowledgeable guides. Additional resort activities include treatments at the Island Spa and cultural and eco excursions to sites such as the Blue Hole and Maya ruins, which can be arranged at an additional cost.

Unlimited use of non-motorized watersports equipment, freshly prepared meals and airport transfers are included in the resort’s nightly rates which start at $197 per person outside of holidays. St. George’s Caye Resort also offers five-night fishing and seven-night diving packages starting at $1,999 per person double occupancy.

St. George’s Caye Resort, located on a private residential island just off the coast of Belize, is known for its lush surroundings, excellent service and world-class diving and fishing adventures. Resort accommodations include 12 private cabanas, eight lodge rooms and a 5,000-square-foot conference facility available for small corporate events.
