Spirit Appoints New COO, VP of Flight Operations

Spirit Airlines has appointed two new executives to its senior management team. Ken McKenzie will join the company as its new chief operating officer and Chris Grazel has been appointed as vice president of flight operations. McKenzie was most recently executive vice president of operations for WestJest, where he previously served as vice president, operational development.
Prior to WestJet, he was chief pilot and in regulatory affairs at Air Canada Jazz. Grazel was most recently vice president of operations at Skybus Airlines where he was one of the original founding employees and where he also previously served as chief pilot.
Prior to Skybus, he was assistant chief pilot at US Airways where he held several pilot positions over a 19-year career. Grazel was also a highly decorated naval officer, F-14 instructor pilot, landing signal officer and TOPGUN Naval Fighter Weapons School graduate.
