Spirit Adds Service from DFW to Mexico, Detroit, San Diego

Spirit Airlines will more than quadruple the number of cities it serves from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport this summer. The airline will start nonstop daily service from Dallas-Fort Worth to three more new cities on June 21, including Toluca/Mexico City, Detroit and San Diego.

To promote the new service, Spirit is offering roundtrip fares starting at $52.58 from Dallas-Fort Worth to Detroit and San Diego -- the fare itself is $18, the rest is taxes and fees. Spirit is offering starting fares at $129.46 to Toluca/Mexico City. Again, the fare is $18, the rest is taxes and fees.

Spirit started service from Dallas-Fort Worth on May 5, with nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas, followed by Chicago. The airline also now offers nonstop service to Atlanta, Boston, New York LaGuardia, Orlando and Phoenix/Mesa. On May 3, Spirit starts daily service to Denver and three weekly flights to Myrtle Beach, and on May 4, Spirit begins four weekly flights to Tampa.
