The Spanish hotel group Barcelo will shortly open another hotel in Cuba

In a joint venture with the Gran Caribe Group, the Spanish hotel chain Barcelo will open this month a new hotel in Cayo Largo de Sur, a major tourist destination in southwestern Cuba. The 306-room Barceló Cayo Largo Beach Resort Hotel is a property of the Group Gran Caribe and will be run by the Spanish chain Barceló.

According to experts, damages caused by three hurricanes during construction have delayed the completion of the works. For that reason, construction works have lasted over 40 months, instead of the originally planned 24 months. This situation has caused an increase in costs. The construction of the hotel has combined traditional building systems and state-of-the-art technologies.
