Spanish Amusement Park to Launch Major Advertising Campaign in Russia

PortAventura, the famous Spanish amusement park, is planning a marketing campaign in Russia for next year which it hopes will increase the number of Russian tourists next year by 25%, according to Fernando Aldecoa, CEO of the park.

According to Aldecoa, around 320,000 Russian tourists have visited the park in 2012, compared to 100,000 in 2009. “Next year, thanks to close links with Russian tour operators, we hope to reach the 400,000 mark. Russia is the second most important international market for us after France,” he said.

To make this happen, PortAventura has selected a specialized marketing campaign in Russia with a formidable budget ? themed buses will appear in Moscow, TV advertisements will be broadcast, and special catalogues dedicated exclusively to PortAventura will be supplied to Russian travel agents.

Furthermore, taking into account the importance of the Russian market, PortAventura’s management has taken the unprecedented step of developing the park with the tastes and preferences of Russian tourists in mind.
