Spain Set to Be the UK’s Favorite Holiday Destination in 2011

Spain continues to be one of the most popular holiday destinations for UK travelers. According to a recent study by the market research company GfK Ascent, bookings for holidays to Spain have increased by as much as 32 percent.

The online holiday comparison site, dealchecker.co.uk has also found that the number of online enquiries for holidays to several Spanish destinations, including holidays to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Ibiza and Mainland Spain, have increased by 59 percent compared to February and March 2010. The price comparison website has seen a particular interest in the traditional Spanish Costas and for holidays to the Canary Islands.

While Spain is undoubtedly the favorite holiday choice for UK travelers, dealchecker.co.uk found that Greece and Turkey were the second and third most popular destinations for consumers planning to travel in February and March.

Or from just £174 per person, travelers can enjoy seven nights at the Green Field Hotel in Gran Canaria on a B&B basis with flights from Bristol, departing in May 2011.
