Spain’s RIU Not Done Building in Jamaica

RIU Hotels & Resorts has unveiled plans for its fifth hotel in Jamaica, a 250-room hotel in Montego Bay due to open in 2011. The hotel will be adjacent to RIU’s 701-room, all-inclusive Montego Bay resort that is scheduled to open Aug. 29.

RIU already operates a hotel in Ocho Rios and two in Negril. The company opened its first hotel in Jamaica in 2000, in Negril. The newest project will bring RIU’s room count in Jamaica to 2,643 rooms.
