Sol Meliá shines brighter in Brazil

A new establishment will come aboard Spain-based company Sol Meliá next May 1 with the leasing of the Mofarrej Hotel right in the financial heart of the Brazilian city of Sao Paolo. The new moniker for the resort? Gran Meliá Mofarrej, company execs informed in a press release.

The addition of the Gran Meliá Mofarrej –featuring 245 rooms and an 800-square-meter presidential suite- takes up the peg to 22 resorts now run by the Spanish giant in Brazil. Moreover, Sol Meliá is planning the opening of other eight establishments in that South American nation for the next two to three years.

The number of hotels owned by the chain under the Gran Meliá category now amounts to twelve. The other eleven resorts are: Gran Meliá Bahia del Duque (Tenerife); Gran Meliá Salinas (Lanzarote); Gran Meliá Volcan Lanzarote (Lanzarote); Gran Meliá Don Pepe (Marbella); Gran Meliá Fenix (Madrid); Gran Meliá Victoria (Palma Mallorca); Gran Meliá Yakarta (Indonesia); Gran Meliá Caracas (Venezuela); Gran Meliá WTC Sao Paulo (Brazil); Gran Meliá Mexico Reforma (Mexico, D.F) and Gran Meliá Cancun (Mexico).
