Sisal Seaport Goes Unnoticed in Mexican Caribbean

Despite its nearness to the state capital of Yucatan and regardless of a huge historic heritage and gorgeous beauty, tourist authorities in Sisal have barely tapped into its seaport.

Several civic and social entities seeking to give a new lease on life to this port just 32 miles away from Merida are trying to get the same kind of financial support that other locations, such as Celestun, have managed to come by. Other attractions around Sisal, probably stemming from its still unexplored nature, are the prices tacked on all lodging and food services.
