Sharon Bernstein Appointed Chair to Board of Directors for the CTO UK Chapter

Sharon Bernstein, General Manager of Grenada Board of Tourism UK & Ireland, has been appointed Chair of the Caribbean Tourism Organization CTO (UK) Ltd with immediate effect for a period of two years.

Bernstein, a director of London-based destination representation agency Eyes2market UK Ltd, has been a member of the current CTO (UK) Board of Directors since 2010 and brings with her over 20 years of travel and tourism expertise. Her relationship with the Caribbean extends over two decades, having worked with the Grenada Board of Tourism in various capacities since 2000.

Bernstein said: “The work of the CTO has a direct impact across the Caribbean region, where over 14% of GDP is generated by tourism. It is vital that we continue and further develop strategies that create clear sales messages through succinct and targeted marketing and lobbying campaigns. I am delighted to be appointed as Chair and look forward to supporting Carol Hay and her team and working with some of the travel industry’s most experienced and talented experts, to deliver results for the Caribbean.”

The CTO (UK) Ltd Board of Directors acts as a voluntary advisory board for the UK travel market and comprises of National Tourist Office and private sector individuals, all of whom are members of the CTO UK Chapter.  The Board meets on a monthly basis with the CTO London team to discuss and help shape specific UK Chapter activities and events, with the aim to develop greater awareness and growth to the Caribbean region on behalf of the CTO UK Chapter Membership. The UK Chapter Membership currently has 91 companies consisting of tourist boards, tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, cruise line, hotels and hotel representation companies, PR, media and allied companies.
