Septeto Santiaguero’s Latest Album to Hit Stores, Airwaves
Septeto Santiaguero’s latest album, entitled "No quiero llanto, Tributo a Los Compadres", will also pay tribute to the 500th anniversary of the foundation of the village, Fernando Dewar, director of the group, said.

The album is ready and is scheduled to be launched in January 2015. The list of guest artists is made up of Oscar D'Leon, José Alberto "El Canario", Eliades Ochoa, Andy Montañez, Aymeé Nuviola, Ismael Miranda, "Tiburón" Morales, Edwin Bonilla, among other prestigious national and international musicians.
As for the album’s characteristics, Dewar explained that "it includes 18 songs distributed in two volumes. It’s a very beautiful and varied album. We worked on it for a long time in terms of genres and songwriters because, although people speak about Los Compadres and only refer to two artists, their work also included songs that weren’t created by them ".
"The volume aims at contributing to the history of the city and music, since it’s our way to promote the recognition and preservation of this genre", he pointed out.
Dewar shared details related to an upcoming album that should be ready by the second half of 2015, in collaboration with Egrem.
"Although people might not believe it, we haven’t still produced a single album with a Cuban record company. This album will be the first one and we’re going to work with such acclaimed artists as Pedro Luis Ferrer and William Cobas –a Santiago-based songwriter – among other outstanding musicians", he announced.
Septeto Santiaguero was founded in 1995 in an effort to preserve and foster the son tradition from Cuba’s easternmost region. With Oye mi son santiaguero (2010), recorded with Spanish PICAP, they were nominated to the Latin Grammy in the Tropical Traditional Best Album.
