Sandals LaSource Appoints General Manager

Peter Fraser has been appointed as General Manager of Sandals LaSource Grenada Resort & Spa, the newest and most contemporary Luxury Included resort.

Fraser, currently the General Manager of the illustrious Sandals Royal Planation, will be responsible for bringing Sandals Resorts Chairman and Founder, Gordon “Butch” Stewart’s vision for Sandals LaSource to life. The resort will officially open in December 2013.

A veteran of the hospitality industry with more than 30 years of experience, Fraser brings a wealth of knowledge to his position as General Manager of Sandals LaSource and will manage day-to-day operations of the luxury resort, which following renovations will boast the resort company’s most elaborate accommodations to date, nine global gourmet dining options with the brand’s very first steakhouse, and an expansive Wellness Centre.

“We certainly have chosen the best man for the job,” says Mr. Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart. “He has not only had an amazing career within the hospitality industry, but a remarkable run within Sandals Resorts – curating and maintaining an award-winning resort with his amazing vision.  We are so pleased Mr. Fraser will be at the helm of our debut in Grenada, for what will sure be the pinnacle of Sandals Resorts and the future of the brand.”

As General Manager of Sandals Royal Plantation, Fraser helped restore the legendary resort, formerly known as the Plantation Inn, to its original glory days, positioning it as a leader within the luxury marketplace.  His determination to continually improve upon the guest experience ensured that the resort remained focused on what was truly important – service.

Fraser boasts an extensive background in the hospitality industry, having served as Director of Group Operations at Gems of Barbados prior to his time as Director of Operations for the Renaissance Jamaica Grande Resort.  In 1986, Fraser directed Food & Beverage at the Dubai International Hotel and The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel after serving as General Manager for Terra Nova Hotel and the Eaton Hall Great House & Villas in 1974.

Fraser studied Hotel and Restaurant Management at the D. Speiser Hotel School and Food & Beverage Management at Kastens Hotel, both in Germany. He is the Chairman and Founder of The Tremaine Institute, a member of the Consortium of Hotel Consultants for Training in the Hospitality Industry, and a member of Chaine des Rotisseurs, an international gastronomical society founded in Paris.

A successor, yet to be named, has been chosen as General Manager of Sandals Royal Plantation and will be trained by Mr. Peter Fraser.
