Sandals Antigua Unveils Mediterranean Village

On July 15, Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa will unveil a new, all-suite Mediterranean Village, a $70 million expansion to the resort’s existing 193-room Caribbean Village. The Mediterranean Village will feature 180 suites in six room categories, all with ocean views and a Mediterranean flair, plus more dining options, an expanded Red Lane spa, and a sixth pool -the largest in the Eastern Caribbean.

The new Mediterranean Village’s open-air lobby, features vaulted ceilings, 180 all ocean view suites each offering palatial marble bathrooms with his and hers vanities and mosaic tiling, Jacuzzi tubs built for two with separate shower areas that feature overhead rain showers, additional living areas and large plasma televisions.

Four new restaurants will compliment the resort’s existing five, providing a total of nine dining options at Sandals Grande Antigua. The new eateries include a buffet-style Italian restaurant, a traditional English pub, al fresco beach dining at Barefoot by the Sea.

For guests traveling in large parties for special events or conventions, the new Mediterranean Village adds 9,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space to the resort’s current 1,425 square foot conference room, including a 3,200 square foot meeting room that can seat up to 300 persons, a boardroom, a pre-function area and kitchen facilities.
