Samana Beach Recognized for Environmental Quality

The Coson de Samana beach at the Viva Wyndham Resort in Samana has received the prestigious Blue Flag certification, an international recognition given to beaches that meet certain environmental criteria.

The Viva Wyndham Samana was awarded the certification based on the cleanliness of the beach and their vigilance in protecting its coral reefs. The Samana Wyndham is the third resort in the chain to receive a Blue Flag recognition.

Rafael Blanco Canto, VP Executive of the Viva Wyndham Resort chain, said in a statement that preserving marine ecosystems, including beaches, is one of the responsibilities of the tourism industry.
