Rodrigo Silveyra is New General Manager of Havana’s Meliá Cohiba Hotel

Sitting in for Eric Bourdales as general manager of the Meliá Cohiba Hotel in Havana, the Spanish company’s front office has appointed Rodrigo Silveyra for that position. Mr. Silveyra was serving as general manager of the Paradisus Rio de Oro, also in Cuba.

Mr. Silveyra has always been linked to the Sol Meliá Company during his entire professional career. He cut his managerial teeth in Madrid’s Melia Avenida America Hotel and was then sent to Cuba to work as resident director of the Meliá Cohiba under the leadership of Carlos Villota. Later on, he moved up the ladder as general manager of the Sol Cayo Largo Resort.

Havana’s Meliá Cohiba Hotel is currently refurbishing 60 percent of its rooms, a process the lodging’s management expects to complete in coming months with the remaining 40 percent of the accommodations.
