The RIU Paradise Island in the Bahamas will close on Aug. 20 for a three-month, $25 million makeover. The resort will reopen Nov. 26 as the RIU Palace Paradise Island.

The project will include a refurbishment of the 379 guestrooms, which will be converted to suites and junior suites. Each guestroom will have a laptop-sized safe, hydro-massage tub, shower and king or canopy bed.

The all-inclusive resort will offer free wireless Internet access in the lobby, the new Krystal restaurant, a new sports bar and daily champagne service at breakfast.
