RIU Hotels & Resorts´ Payroll Reaches 18,000 Employees, and Counting
Due to the recent openings of four new hotels –RIU Palace Riviera Maya in Mexico, RIU Palace Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Hotel RIU Miramar in Bulgaria and RIU Fantasy Beach in Romania- RIU Hotels & Resorts has once again substantially increased its workforce.
Currently, RIU employs over 18,000 people worldwide up from 17,000 at the beginning of 2006 and 7,000 in 1997. This growth is in line with the company´s dynamic expansion over the past decade.
Since the mid-1990s RIU has hired between 1,000 and 2,000 employees annually. The company expects to exceed 19,000 employees by the end of 2006.
One of the most unique aspects of RIU´s growth has been the increased diversity within the company. RIU employees hail from over 18 countries on four continents and bring an array of cultures, languages and traditions to the company´s 110 properties.
RIU employs 18,000 individuals and offers 35,000 rooms in 18 countries, including Aruba, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Florida, Jamaica and Mexico.
