Republic Airways is closing down Lynx Aviation, Frontier’s turboprop subsidiary. Lynx will close shop in April, Republic said, and 175 jobs will be cut. The move is part of Republic’s “fleet simplification,” following last year’s acquisitions of Frontier and Midwest.

Most flying done by Lynx will be replaced by regional jets operated by Republic crews. Jet service will be more competitive than turboprops on the routes, Republic said. The company will drop flights to Fargo, N.D., and Tulsa, Okla., on April 5.
