Punta Cana Airport to Build Fourth Terminal

A fourth terminal is planned for Punta Cana Airport in the Dominican Republic, although no date has been set for opening.

The airport is the ninth largest in passenger volume in the Caribbean and Latin America, handling five million passengers in 2013, according to Frank Rainieri, CEO of airport owner Punta Cana Group.

More than 60 percent of all travelers flying to the Dominican Republic arrive via Punta Cana. Rainieri predicted a growth of 10 percent a month in passenger arrivals this year.
