Puerto Rico Convention Bureau Celebrates Outstanding FY Outcomes

The Puerto Rico Convention Bureau (PRCB) announced its year-end results during the organization´s annual membership meeting held on August 24. The presentation was made to more than 400 members of the organization at the new Puerto Rico Convention Center.

During Fiscal Year 2004-2005, the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau has confirmed a total of 557 definite group bookings for a total of 241,084 overall room nights. This stands for a five percent increase over bookings in the past fiscal year. In addition, 1,541 leads were generated in fiscal year 2004-2005, representing a total of 1,170,252 potential room night bookings in Puerto Rico.

In addition, the organization welcomed more than 146,649 Bureau-booked delegate arrivals during the fiscal year, and assisted hotel members in securing 85 definite bookings, representing 27,380 room nights. In another booking highlight, the Bureau´s sports marketing and sales efforts produced approximately 22,530 room nights, representing a 35 percent increase in bookings for this specialized market.

The Bureau welcomed 74 new members in FY 04-05, representing a 17 percent increase in new memberships for the organization, while maintaining an 87 percent membership retention rate. The Bureau hosted three Orientation Exchange seminars for new members, nine Meet the Members programs and launched a new educational format for the Bureau-hosted monthly membership Meet & Deal program.
