Puerto Rico’s El San Juan Hotel Names Garcia General Manager

Hilton Worldwide named George I. Garcia as the new general manager of Puerto Rico’s El San Juan Hotel & Casino, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Garcia, who most recently served as general manager of the Harvard Hotel & Club of New York, will report to Barry Lewin, Hilton’s senior vice president, hotel operations, owned assets, and will oversee the operations of the 382-room beachfront property.

Garcia began his career in room operations and food and beverage at a Four Seasons Hotel in Canada. Since then, he has worked in operations management roles across the U.S. at properties including the Arizona Biltmore, the former Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino, Swissôtel hotels in Atlanta and Chicago, and The Drake in New York. He also served as general manager and vice president operations at EMI Resorts. Garcia holds a commerce degree from the Instituto Panamericano in Colombia and speaks Spanish, French and English
