The AAA Four Diamond Award winning Presidente InterContinental Cancun Resort began a dramatic transformation this winter and will re-open to guests beginning March 10.

While Cancun´s beaches were severely eroded by Hurricane Wilma, the Presidente InterContinental Cancun Resort, due to its privileged location, added more than 15 feet of additional frontage to its spectacular private beach, one of the largest and most beautiful in Mexico and featured as one of the “World´s Best Beaches” by the Travel Channel.

Following Hurricane Wilma, senior Grupo Presidente officials took advantage of a rare opportunity to make several dramatic additions to the resort, as well as an extensive renovation of all rooms and public areas.

Each of the resort´s 299 guest rooms and suites were upgraded with new duvet covers, bedding, upholstery and carpeting throughout all corridors. A completely new club floor featuring 36 new club rooms is now located on the fifth floor, bringing the total number of club rooms offered at the property to 52.

The resort is currently undergoing the second and final phase of additions and improvements, which are expected to be complete by July 15 and will finalize the resort´s dramatic transformation. Guests will experience a minimal inconvenience during this time.
