Port of Los Angeles to Add Cruise Ship Facility

The Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved a major development at the Port of Los Angeles that will include a new, outer harbor cruise ship terminal designed to accommodate the largest ships that will call at the port in the coming decades. The project is expected to take 10 or more years to complete.

The port anticipates funding approximately $900 million, largely for public infrastructure. An additional $300 million will be raised through private investment through the board’s entitlement of up to 300,000 square feet of commercial-retail redevelopment and an additional 75,000 square feet of conference center space.
