Playa Hotels & Resorts Names Omar Palacios Executive VP & CFO

Playa Hotels & Resorts named Omar Palacios executive vice president and chief financial officer. In his new position, Palacios will work closely with Bruce Wardinski, the company’s chairman and CEO, to plan and develop Playa Hotels & Resorts’ financial infrastructure and position the company for an initial public offering “in the foreseeable future,” the company said.

Palacios joins Playa Hotels & Resorts following 11 years at Kerzner International Limited, most recently as senior vice president and chief financial officer for One&Only Resorts. He holds a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Miami and earned a Certified Public Accountant certificate from the state of Georgia. He began his career with Arthur Andersen and later worked for AutoNation. Playa Hotels & Resorts owns 17 properties in Mexico and the Dominican Republic operating under the Barceló brand, owned by Barceló Hotels & Resorts, and under the Dreams and Secrets brands, owned by AMResorts.
