Under a campaign slogan reading “Wake Up Your Six Senses. Come To Peru,” the Peruvian government and Spanish group El Corte Ingles are joining hands to step up the now trickling number of Spaniards visiting the South American nation.

The Spanish firm will promote Peru’s tourist destinations that currently receive a meager 0.7 percent of all traveling Spaniards.

Peruvian ambassador to Spain, Fernando Olivera, said the former terrorist violence did in tourism in his country, even though he made sure President Toledo’s administration is keen to re-launching tourism as the cure-all for the nation’s economic woes.
