Peru, China Discuss Nonstop Flights

Peru and China are sitting down to sketch a strategic alliance for the implementation of nonstop flights between both nations, Peruvian governmental consultant Mario Roggero revealed earlier this week.

“This piece of news is generating great expectations because it would mean a strategic alliance with China,” Mr. Roggero said in an interview on a local radio station. In his opinion, the agreement could be worked out between Transportes Nacionales de Peru and Air China.

“What we´re offering China is the business of travel transportation to South America. We´re offering them to run the business as long as they´re wiling to make a hub in Lima and guarantee that Chinese tourists will stay in the country for at least twelve days,” he added.

Peru won the authorized travel destination status last January, a condition that would bring scores of Chinese sunbathers to the South American nation.
