Paraguay goes riling over Brazilian tourist blitz

Paraguay’s tourism authorities are seeing red over a campaign knocked together by Brazilian tour agencies that targets their nation and warns potential trippers that traveling to Paraguay is extremely dangerous due to rampant crime rates and overspread uncertainty in the country.

Paraguay’s tourism secretary Evanhy de Gallegos turned to a MERCOSUR ministerial meeting –held over the weekend in Montevideo- in an effort to put a halt to that campaign carried out by Brazilian tour operators.

Local news media have been blasting Brazilian companies that keep warning tourists to stop traveling to Paraguay, branding the nation as a very dangerous place swept by alleged violence and uncertainty.
