NTA Appoints Pam Inman New President

NTA, formerly known as the National Tour Association, hired Pam Inman to be its new president. Inman takes the role vacated by Lisa Simon last November. Simon headed the organization for seven years and worked in it for 28 years.

Inman has worked in the travel industry more than 25 years. During the last 10 years she worked with the American Hotel and Lodging Association, rising to the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. In that capacity she led an initiative to overhaul the association’s governing system, membership model and dues structure, as well as to develop strategies for growth and member retention. She directed marketing and communications, conventions and events and business development, and developed new revenue streams.

Previous to that Inman directed the Tennessee Hotel and Lodging Association and the Nashville Hotel and Lodging Association. She worked for 10 years in the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development and held executive positions under two Tennessee governors and other levels of state government, handling the management and the marketing of the state’s resort parks and their inns, restaurants and other on-site venues.

She studied at Tennessee State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications. She also holds a degree from the Institute for Organizational Management at the University of Notre Dame. She is a Certified Association Executive of the American Society of Association Executives and a Certified Master Hotel Supplier of the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.  

Inman will attend NTA’s Contact event in August, though her official duties as president will begin in September.
