The Nicaraguan location of San Juan del Sur –some 80 miles from Managua- now has its own tourism trademark. Under a slogan reading Bays of Sunsets and Adventure, local authorities expect to bring a larger inflow of tourists to the region.

The beautiful Nicaraguan bay and its nearby beaches receive hundreds of cruises and scores of sunbathers every year. The logo features colors and symbols that illustrate the location’s sun-and-sand spots, breathtaking sunsets and emotion-packed adventures.

This is the latest effort conducted by the San Juan del Sur Tourism Commission in coordination with other private and public sectors.

Leda Sanchez, deputy president of the Nicaraguan Tourism Institute, said San Juan del Sur continues to be the country’s leading region in terms of training level, promotion, advertisement and tourist consciousness.

In Mrs. Sanchez’s opinion, “these are key elements to the effective promotion of high-quality products required to raise competitiveness at national and international levels.”

Authorities of San Juan del Sur, in the province of Rivas, have also put out a tourist map and corporate guidebook featuring all services that the bay area has to offer, including a few projects carried out before the trademark was unveiled.
