New Research Sheds Light on the Physical Effects of Business Travel

New research out demonstrates the toll international business travel has on busy executives. The research, produced by AirPlus International (global corporate card provider), in partnership with Business Travel Market (13-14 June), demonstrated that, frequent travel executives can suffer from decreases in mental capacity, increased stress levels and decreased productivity.

When monitoring executives travelling with non-travelling, the research also showed the average daily recovery percentage in the non-travelling group was 26 percent compared to only 14 percent in the travelling group and the quality of recovery with the travelling group scoring -35 on average compared to +81 in the non- travelling group.

The consequences of this state massively affected business performance through a reduction of mental capacity, diminished communication skills, lower levels of concentration, decreased engagement, reduced levels of tolerance and increased risk of ill health
