New Miami-Bimini Fast Ferry Begins Operations

The Balearia Bahamas Express launched Miami-Bimini fast-ferry service on Feb. 8 onboard The Maverick. The service offers three trips per week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The ferry will leave Port of Miami at 9 a.m. and arrive in Bimini by noon.
It will depart Bimini at 5 p.m. and arrive back in Miami around 8 p.m. Introductory fares start at $49.50. The company, owned by Spanish ferry operator Baleària and the Capo Group, also operates service between Fort Lauderdale and Grand Bahama Island.
