Industry studies show that more than 50% of travelers trying to make online room reservations don´t complete their booking because the process is too complicated and confusing.

A new online booking engine, BookingEdge from Ultrabooking Solutions, Inc. of Weston, Florida, helps hoteliers turn their existing website traffic into no-commission revenue by shortening and simplifying the online booking process.

"Direct-to-consumer is the least expensive online distribution channel, and according to industry research, 68% of online consumers prefer dealing directly with hotels when purchasing accommodations online," notes Dwight Hillocks, creator of BookingEdge.

Besides simplifying online bookings for the customer, the secure-server BookingEdge system includes a password-protected back-end management area for each client hotel, where reservations can be reviewed, room availability easily updated and rates changed by authorized personnel effortlessly.

Unlike aggregated online reservation systems, BookingEdge does not charge any commission on bookings, but rather a nominal setup charge and a monthly or annual fee based on the number of rooms a property has. "Typically, one two-night booking the hotel would not otherwise have had covers the monthly charge for BookingEdge," notes Hillocks.
