New Departures Terminal Opens at Jamaica Airport
The new departures terminal opened on Oct. 21 at Norman Manley Airport in Kingston, Jamaica. The debut marked the completion of the $1.7 million first phase of a three-phase, 20-year development plan.
Phases two and three, which include new terminals and passenger facilities, is expected to cost an additional $41 million.
In a separate initiative, work is set to begin soon on improving sections of the highway leading to the airport’s entrance. Prime Minister Bruce Golding said that work would be completed before the start of the peak winter season in mid-December.
