New Carnival superliner will sail on the Caribbean Sea
The 110,000-ton Carnival Glory will become Port Canaveral, Fla.´s newest and largest cruise ship when it launches year-round seven-day Caribbean service from that port July 19.
The 2,974-passenger SuperLiner replaces the 2,124-passenger Carnival Pride, representing a 40 percent capacity increase on this route, which encompasses alternating eastern and western Caribbean sailings departing every Saturday. Eastern Caribbean cruises call at Nassau, St. Thomas/St.
John, and St. Maarten, while western Caribbean voyages include Key West, Belize City, Cozumel and Progreso/Merida. Longer than three football fields, Carnival Glory will house 22 lounges and bars, a 12,000-square-foot Polynesian-themed health spa, expansive children and teen facilities, and an upscale "steakhouse-style" supper club, one of several dining options aboard the massive "floating resort."
Record Number of New York Departures Carnival will operate an unprecedented 50 "Fun Ship" departures from the Big Apple, including a one-of-a-kind eight-day Caribbean schedule aboard Carnival Legend featuring stops at San Juan, St. Thomas/St. John and Tortola/Virgin Gorda. Also included in Carnival´s 2003 New York schedule are seven-day Bermuda cruises aboard Carnival Pride, and four- and five-day Canada voyages and seven-day "fall foliage" sailings aboard Carnival Victory.
