New Award for Compartiendo

The media is going to be given a new award for its efforts to foster national and international tourism.

The Confederation of Tourism Organizations from Latin America (COTAL is the Spanish acronym) is set to hold its annual Congress in Panama City, November 21 - 24.

Five figures, linked to the Tourism and Gastronomy sectors in our region, have been chosen within the framework of this event, as "COTAL 2013 Tourism Ambassadors ", a recognition that will be handed during the opening ceremony of our Congress, on Thursday, November 21.

The prizewinners are Carlos Masip, Director of Compartiendo, Jose G. Rodriguez, Mayor of Mayagüez, from Puerto Rico; Cuquita Arias, Panamanian Chef; Gino Molinari, Director of Tourism in Guayaquil and Rosalinda Thomas, representative of ITB Berlin in the Caribbean.

So Compartiendo is going to be the only representative from Argentina to receive this remarkable recognition for its contribution to the travel industry, the result of over seven years spreading the word on national and international destinations.

Conceived to champion the interests of Latin American travel agents, COTAL mainly gathers Travel Agencies and Tourism Associations from Latin America, described as full members, and other affiliates, such as freelance organizations, official tourism entities, transportation companies, hotels, rental offices, the media specialized on the sector and other companies related to the travel industry.
