More Passengers Used Mexico City´s Airport in 2004

Mexico City´s international airport was used by 22.9 million passengers in the course of last year, up 6 percent from 2003 when 21.6 million travelers walked past its gates.
Jose Luis Uribe, a spokesman for the air terminal, hailed the increase as good news, even though the numbers were shorter than the projected 23.1 million passengers.
Mr. Uribe added air operations were up 3.5 percent from 2003 with 322,151 takeoffs and landings. Another interesting piece of information is that little more than 15 million people took domestic flights in 2004, while 7.9 million fliers traveled overseas to or from the airport. In both cases, the figures stand for new record highs.
