A million Cubans camped out in 2004

As many as one million Cubans spent time in the 82 camping facilities scattered all across the island during the course of last year, said Eduardo Tirado, president of the People´s Camping Entrepreneurial Group.

Mr. Tirado underscored how investment in the sector helped improve services in all camping areas and projected remodeling of several facilities in an effort to add more accommodations in 2005.

As part of yearend festivities, several parties, special programs and dinners were held to mark the 46th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on New Year´s Day.

Cuba boasts as many as 4,000 campout cabanas and 20,000 smaller accommodations for those who love nature at its best at very affordable prices.
