Mexico will once again attend FITUR armed with the offers and products that have made it one of the world’s best travel destinations and a leading spot in the Americas and the Caribbean. The country is by far a place that features an unmatchable blend of leisure, culture, diversity, history and hospitality.

With over 20 million foreign arrivals every year, Mexico ranks eighth on the list of the world’s top travel destinations and one of the finest choices among Spanish vacationers.

Mexico’s stand at the 2004 FITUR is in Pavilion 6 (stand 6B 204) and is the second largest in the entire fair. In it, attendants will find useful information of the 32 Mexican states and about all major travel companies operating in the country.

High-ranking Mexican officials will also be present at the Spanish tradeshow. Among them, Tourism Secretary Rodolfo Elizondo Torres; Francisco Ortiz Ortiz, head of the Mexican Tourism Promotion Council; FONATUR Chief John McCarthy, and Karla Maucinitt, head of Public Relations for Mexico, Europe and North America.

The Mexican delegation will have a tight working agenda that includes a number of meetings with representatives from the Spanish travel industry. The goal behind this effort is the signing of bilateral trade agreements, the promotion of Mexican travel destinations, the opening of new investment opportunities, and the presentation of tourist novelties inside the country.
