Mexico, Peru sign agreement to add more commercial flights

The governments of Mexico and Peru agreed to increase up to ten the number of commercial flights between the two countries in an effort to boost up bilateral tourism, Peruvian first vice president Raul Diez Canseco said. The decision is contained in the Agreement of Understanding inked by both parties within the framework of the Fifth Ministerial Meeting of the World Trade Organization recently held in Cancun.

The new accord gives a fresh look to the Air Transportation Agreement signed between the two nations that seeks to raise the number of flights from four to six and opens up a window of opportunity for a couple of airlines from each of the two nations to operate routes between Mexico and Peru.

“We’ve managed to add more commercial flights for other airlines to join the program and bring in more Mexican tourists to our country,” vice president Canseco concluded.
