Mexico´s Puerto Vallarta Rescues Own Historic Center

The City Hall of Puerto Vallarta is cranking up a project to rescue the Mexican city´s historic center and paint a brighter picture of the Caribbean-bathed burg, Mayor Gustavo Gonzalez Villaseñor informed this week.

With the support of the City Hall and the Mayor´s Office, the municipal administration has plans in the offing to start a brief but white-heat crusade to restore the village´s visual image. The endeavor counts on the support of the Municipal Council for the Conservation, Preservation and Restoration of the Historic Center and the Puerto Vallarta Tourist Corridor.

“We´re calling on municipal authorities to take care of Puerto Vallarta´s historic center and visual image. We must all be aware of the benefits that tourism brings and start by putting our own house in order first and by painting a better picture of our own businesses,” Mr. Villaseñor said in a recent press conference.
