Metropolitan Touring Ecuador Honored by Condé Nast Traveler as a Finalist in the Magazine’s 2008 World Savers Awards
Condé Nast Traveler has named Metropolitan Touring a finalist in the category of Wildlife Conservation of the magazine’s 2008 World Savers Awards. Metropolitan Touring Ecuador is one of 38 companies selected worldwide as a leader in social responsibility in the magazine’s September issue.
The finalists will be recognized at the World Savers Awards ceremony on September 23 at the 2nd Annual Condé Nast Traveler World Savers Congress in New York City.
Seventeen judges reviewed 142 applications and rated how applicants exercise social responsibility in five key areas: poverty alleviation, cultural and/or environmental preservation, education, wildlife conservation, and health. Thirty-eight finalists were named and the final winners were determined by compiling the judges’ overall rankings.
“The Condé Nast Traveler World Savers Awards recognize companies that are stepping up to the challenge of improving our world,” said editor-in-chief Klara Glowczewska. “This year’s finalists are setting standards in social responsibility in ways that we hope will become models for the entire travel industry.”

Metropolitan Touring has incorporated an Environmental Policy to its company philosophy, a set of practices that, over time, will improve our environmental footprint. While we still have a lot to accomplish on the long road toward sustainability, we strongly believe that we are headed in the right direction.
