Marriott Paid a Record $177 Million Worth of Agent Commissions in 2005

Marriott International reported that it doled out $177 million in travel agent commissions last year, a company record.

According to Fred Miller, Marriott´s vice president global sales, “2005 was a year of growth for us in the travel agent community.”

Over the year, Marriott also graduated the 100,000th travel agent from its Hotel Excellence program, which is designed to better develop agents´ understanding of the hotel chain as a tool to help them better sell it.
