Marriott International, Inc. will open its third moderately priced Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Frankfurt in 2009 under a franchise agreement with Schuffenhauer Hotel Management GmbH.

The 108-room Courtyard by Marriott Frankfurt South Oberforsthaus will be located at the most important southern gateway to Frankfurt and will be comprised of two parts. The first is the re-development of the old Oberforsthaus, a former well-known gamekeeper lodge dating back to 1792 which was frequented by, among others, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

The original building was mostly destroyed by fire and will be reconstructed. As a listed building under cultural protection, it will house the hotel’s restaurant and conference facilities. The second part of the hotel will be a newly constructed, four-story building which will comprise the main hotel with a lobby, a bar and restaurant, banquet facilities, fitness center and guestrooms.

Nearby are the Commerzbank Arena, the headquarters of the National Football Unity and the headquarters of Nike Germany. In addition, the Frankfurt race course and its golf course are accessible by foot, directly across the street from the hotel.

Courtyard by Marriott hotels appeal to business and leisure travelers who have an optimistic view of the travel experience and who see it as an opportunity to get out and do new things.

The innovative and stylish guestrooms at the Courtyard by Marriott Frankfurt South will boast Marriott’s new, highly-acclaimed, plush bedding and bath linens; and will be equipped with internet access, large well-lit work desks, ergonomic chairs for comfort, flat screen televisions and in-room safes and refrigerators.

Recreational amenities will include a sauna. Other amenities will include a business lounge and the popular Market, offering sundries and grab-and-go snacks. For meetings and social events, the hotel will have 3,346 square feet of space, including a l,474-square foot conference room and additional meeting rooms in varying configurations.
