Marriott Hotel Coming to Macedonia

Marriott plans to open its first hotel in the Balkans in 2013. A 180-room Marriott is planned for Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. The Skopje Marriott will be the first managed, internationally branded hotel in Skopje, according to Marriott.

“We recently announced our growth goal of doubling our portfolio in Europe, and by entering new markets like Macedonia we are able to reach new customers and meet a real need in the market,” said Amy McPherson, Marriott’s president and managing director for Europe.
